It's nearly time for our popular Christmas decoration meeting!

This year you can choose your decorations……. search the internet for fab ideas, pop to the library to browse through books….. or better still make your own design!

To get you started here's a few ideas…

Have you tried rag rug Christmas decorations?

Great for using up spare fabric or old clothes!

What you need to bring will be up to you but I would suggest the following ….

Felt – try Wilkinson, Pound shops for cheap felt

Buttons

Basic sewing kit

Ribbons

Fabric

Beads & wire – Bunyip is the place to go, ask for advice & the lovely ladies will help

Paper & pens for templates

Hessian & hook for rag rugs 

There will be a prize for the most creative decoration!

Thanks to everyone who came last night to help us make poppies!

It was lovely to see you all again.

Our next meeting is Tuesday 13th November….. slight change to the date due to the room being used.

We'll be making Christmas decorations……. yes it's that time of year again!!

September 2012 – The Big Knit

 

Thanks to everyone who came on Tuesday night for our September meeting……. it was lovely to see you all!

There was lots of wooly crafts happening on the night!!!

We wanted to make about 150 hats this year but I'm sorry to say we made a total of……. 16!

Oh dear….. if anyone would like to make some more feel free to drop them in the shop before Thursday 27th September.

Next Meeting Tuesday 3rd July

 

 

 

On Tuesday 3rd July the ladies from Meme fabrics will be joining us!

 

They will be bringing a selection of kits to make

 

Choose from a simple corsage, collar or even a skirt!

If you have a portable sewing machine & don't mind letting others use it please bring it along. Collars & corsages can be made by hand.

Pop into Meme to let them know what kit you would like to make & they will bring it on the night….. or email info@makedoandmend.info & I will pass it on.

Members will recieve 10% discount on the kits!

Please bring a basic sewing kit

Needles, thread, scissors etc

 I no longer reserve places……. if you wish to attend you must book online

 

Normal charges apply

Members = £2.80

Non members = £3.50

If you don't book online you can turn up on the night but be warned we maybe full!!

Tea, coffee & biscuits will be provided……. don't FORGET to bring your own mug!
